Once again in 2004, we earned the honor of
being selected for First Lady Taft's "Treasures for the Tree".
We attended the reception at the Governor's Residence in December. The following
ornament was submitted and selected as one of fifty finalists.
The first ornament designed by Mike, won
first place in its region in 2003.

Columbus, Ohio
2003

In 2002, we submitted one of our Holiday copper creations
to Ohio's Governor Taft for the Treasures for the Tree contest. We
were notified in November that our ornament had been selected as one of the
winning entries. The copper Trumpeter of Peace ornament has become
one of the permanent Christmas decorations in the Governor's Residence in
Columbus, Ohio.
Our local newspaper ran an article on the artisans from
Tuscarawas County chosen for this honor.

Along with other fine artisans, we joined Governor and Hope
Taft in their home for a reception recognizing Ohio's finest crafters.
The Copper Rose is honored to be of the few selected for
this contest.
