These have been designed to replicate the antique hitching posts. They stand about four feet tall with a cast iron horse head resting on top of the hand carved post. These also have a hole drilled up through the bottom and come with a metal rod for stability. Starting price is $100 (shown without carvings).
This style of hitching post has a pyramidal top and a hand-forged hitching ring.
Here is how the hitching post would have been used, with the carriage steps. This hitching post won the People's Choice Award at Salt Lake Festival in 2003.
